Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Weekend Maintenance Mechanic</p> <p>Starting rate: $36.70 per hour</p> <p>The schedule for the Weekend Maintenance Mechanic will be:</p> <ul> <li>Saturday - Monday with alternating Fridays </li><li>12-hour shifts, 6pm - 6am </li><li>Shift premium: $1.50 per hour </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>In the Maintenance Mechanic role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and repair all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves customer satisfaction in support of the manufacturing of Kibbles 'n Bits </li><li>Review work orders to ensure materials are available and develop manpower and scheduling estimates. Initiate work orders when work cannot be performed immediately </li><li>Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed </li><li>Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>The successful candidate (s) for this role will have the following qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a high school diploma or a GED </li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude combined with good diagnostic skills </li><li>Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facilities </li><li>A proven track record of consistent performance delivering safety and quality </li><li>Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions </li><li>Ability to comply with a strict attendance policy </li><li>Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment </li><li>Ability and willingness to communicate with cross functional teams </li><li>Experience in food manufacturing preferred </li></ul> <p>Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Able to operate, perform basic physical activities: climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and moving around stairs, ladders, platforms and various equipment </li><li>Able to lift objects up to 60 pounds frequently </li><li>Must be able to effectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents </li><li>Qualified candidates may be required to complete an assessment </li></ul>
