<p>The Senior Product Manager supports the technology systems of BYU-Pathway, which form the virtual campus for online learning, helping students, instructors, mentors, missionaries, and administrators find joy and success in their efforts.</p> <p>This will be accomplished by leveraging data analytics, user feedback, and market research to gain insights into student preferences and pain points, which help in tailoring services and technologies to the specific needs of a diverse group of stakeholders.</p> <p>It is important that the individual filling this role work with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.</p> <p>Joining a team of product managers, the specific product assignment will depend on the skills and experience of the hired candidate. We value early, mid and late-career candidates and encourage all applicants with the posted skills and abilities to apply.</p> <ul> <li>This full-time position and typically works (Monday - Friday between the hours of 8 am - 5 pm). </li><li>This position is a hybrid position. </li><li>By applying for this position, you are indicating that you are currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, are willing to physically reside and perform the work in Utah and are willing to come into the BYU-Pathway Worldwide headquarters in Salt Lake City 1-3 days per week. </li></ul> <p>Principal Duties & Expected Outcomes:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure assigned products are driving intended business outcomes for BYU-Pathway's strategic priorities </li><li>Develop a deep understanding of BYU-Pathway business strategy and needs of our customers </li><li>Focus on reducing friction, delighting customers, and improving the customer experience </li><li>Perform all product lifecycle activities for assigned products, including product strategy, discovery, planning, prioritization, guiding development, roadmaps, stakeholder alignment, measuring and reporting, and more </li><li>Lead cross-functional product councils, aligning business needs with product plans and resources </li><li>Partner closely with development to deliver new product features effectively and efficiently </li><li>Carefully manage and track an annual product budget </li><li>Identify, measure, and report key product metrics </li><li>Stay current on product alternatives, industry trends, and best practices </li><li>Manage expectations through skillful and transparent communication and collaboration </li><li>Rigorously document key product artifacts including roadmaps, requirements, and backlog </li><li>Drive execution of product work, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks to successful delivery </li><li>Build trust by cultivating?relationships,?executing with?precision, and keeping commitments </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required </li><li>Minimum of 8 years of experience in technology product management. </li><li>Experience managing enterprise applications, higher education systems preferred. </li><li>Experience managing Canvas or other learning management systems preferred. </li><li>Experience solving problems and managing complex projects/programs </li><li>Proven experience shaping product strategy, writing requirements, creating roadmaps, and prioritizing work for development </li><li>Experience managing a significant product budget </li><li>Fluency using product management tools and frameworks </li><li>Formal product management training and/or certifications preferred </li></ul> <p>Skills to be Successful:</p> <p>Leadership and Management - A demonstrated ability to see an organization's future needs and successfully plan for them is critical as the individual facilitates training and messaging to service missionaries and local leaders. Proven ability to work with internal departments.</p> <p>Interpersonal Skills and Communication - The capacity to forge successful working relationships is essential. Collaborative relationships will be necessary with administrators, the online community, external contacts, and a wide range of individuals. Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. The employee must be approachable, empathetic, humble, and live the gospel by example. A natural inclination to be trusting of employees and others is essential.</p> <p>Problem Solving Capability - Given the breadth and complexity of new program development and data analysis, the employee must have demonstrated ability to find solutions through collaborative analytical evaluations among many competing priorities. The incumbent must facilitate decision-making efficiently and in a manner that empowers field operations teams and respects everyone involved. Decisions must align with institutional priorities and reflect wise stewardship</p>
