<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Admissions Counselor is a mission-aligned recruiter focused on identifying and enrolling students whose academic goals and personal values align with Bryn Athyn College of the New Church's distinct mission. The Admissions Counselor will serve as a critical representative of the college, guiding prospective students and families while ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience. With a primary emphasis on generating applications and referrals, this role is instrumental in supporting a targeted tuition-paying enrollments (not including exchange or remission students). The counselor will cultivate deep connections with prospective students, families, alumni, and key feeder schools and communities -including those affiliated with the General Church of the New Jerusalem and The Academy of the New Church -including but not limited to ANC Secondary Schools, Kempton, General Church in Canada, and other New Church societies.</p> <p>This role may also support alumni engagement initiatives and serve as a first-line reviewer of student essays to assess mission fit and potential.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will combine excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a deep understanding of the doctrinally distinctive mission that guides Bryn Athyn College of the New Church.</p> <p>Specific Responsibilities & Essential Functions</p> <p>Recruitment & Outreach:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute a strategic travel plan for assigned territories, including visits to high schools, New Church communities, and regional outreach events. </li><li>Represent Bryn Athyn College of the New Church at college fairs, faith-based gatherings, and school visits across North America. </li><li>Build trusted relationships with feeder schools, homeschool networks, and New Church-affiliated educators and pastors. </li><li>Partner with alumni and current students to build referral pipelines from mission-aligned communities. </li><li>Maintain an active calendar of high-yield travel (seasonal overnight trips required). </li></ul> <p>Application Generation & Enrollment Goals:</p> <ul> <li>Generate new interest and applications from target territories and networks. </li><li>Track and support students through each stage of the admissions funnel. </li><li>Cultivate referrals from alumni, church leaders, and educators. </li></ul> <p>Admissions Counseling & Campus Visits:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct in-person and virtual counseling with students and families regarding academic offerings, doctrinally distinctive mission, and affordability. </li><li>Host on-campus interviews, information sessions, and personalized visits. </li><li>Provide faith-informed guidance to students exploring the distinct environment at BAC. </li></ul> <p>Application Review & Mission Fit:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a frontline reviewer of application essays and materials, with a lens for academic readiness while ensuring compete awareness of the College's doctrinally distinctive offering. </li><li>Participate in admissions committee deliberations and offer informed recommendations. </li><li>Assist in developing tools and rubrics to support mission-based evaluation. </li></ul> <p>Alumni & Community Engagement (Optional Focus Area):</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Advancement and Alumni Relations to strengthen recruitment-aligned alumni engagement in assigned territories. </li><li>Attend alumni, College and Academy events as a College ambassador and identify opportunities to connect alumni with prospective students. </li></ul> <p>Customer Experience and Communication:</p> <ul> <li>Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from prospective students and families via phone, email, and in-person meetings. </li><li>Develop clear, engaging, and accurate communications to provide information about programs, financial aid, and the admissions process. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development and Collaboration:</p> <ul> <li>Participate in training opportunities and professional development activities to stay current in admissions trends and policies. </li><li>Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other departments to support recruitment and retention efforts. </li></ul> <p>Systems & Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Utilize the CRM (e.g., Slate) to track all contacts, communications, and application activity. </li><li>Provide regular updates on territory performance, visit results, and application trends. </li><li>Submit travel and recruitment reports with insights and actionable recommendations. </li></ul> <p>Mission Integration:</p> <ul> <li>Clearly communicate the distinctive faith-based identity of the College, including how its distinctive offering shapes academics, student life, and outcomes. </li><li>Clearly convey the College's mission in all outreach, counseling, and decision-making efforts. </li><li>Actively participate in campus activities and events to remain grounded in the College's values. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Education, & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>Admissions, recruitment, or related public-facing experience preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of General Church of the New Jerusalem, New Church communities, and educational institutions strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. </li><li>Ability to balance administrative responsibilities with dynamic travel and outreach. </li><li>Strong organizational and CRM/data management proficiency. </li><li>Sensitivity to the needs of students and families making values-based educational decisions. </li></ul> <p>Faith Commitment:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with or membership in the New Church (General Church of the New Jerusalem) is strongly preferred. </li><li>Confidence in articulating how the College's distinctive offering is essential to the world, enhancing higher education. </li><li>Willingness to support students from varied backgrounds in exploring the College's doctrinally distinctive education. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions: To apply, please
