<p>Position Summary Description</p> <p>Provides management for Engineering, Administrative, Warehouse, Contract Maintenance, Project Management and Process Improvement to improve the business, maintenance and operational processes at Shady Hills Energy Center (SHEC) to assure the reliable, safe and efficient of the facility.</p> <p>Qualifications and Education Requirements</p> <p>Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or the equivalent experience and training. Applicable technical and management training plus at least eight (8) years of related power generation experience as listed in the job description may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Additional specialized courses in generation technology and management is desired. Strong supervisory experience leading multiple disciplines is required. A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience combining power plant operations, maintenance, project management and/or construction/commissioning of modern power generation plants is required. A minimum of seven (7) years of power generation plant supervisory experience is required. Experience in simple and combined cycle power generating facilities is a plus.</p> <p>Technical Competencies/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Engineering principles </li><li>Problem analysis and solving </li><li>Technical expertise </li><li>Inventory Fundamentals </li><li>Contract/Project Management </li><li>Root Cause Analysis </li><li>Process Improvement </li><li>Bargaining Unit Agreement </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications </li></ul> <p>Soft Competencies/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Effective verbal/nonverbal, listening and written communications </li><li>Effective supervision, performance management and talent development </li><li>Negotiation and conflict resolution </li><li>Leadership </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Results-oriented </li><li>Managing change </li><li>Decisiveness </li><li>Problem solving </li><li>Time management </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Establishes objectives; evaluates and corrects problems; organizes the efforts of the Support Services team. </li><li>Develops and implements long and short-term plans and schedules. </li><li>Creates a collaborative and learning environment by developing the Root Cause Analysis program for continuous improvement efforts. </li><li>Provides a safe and productive work environment for team members congruent with Seminole Electric Cooperative's (SECI) desired culture and in full support of SECI's purpose, core values, core competencies and organizational goals. </li><li>Develop programs to utilize cost and financial analysis for operational and maintenance optimization, decision making, capital project proposal analysis and justifications, procurement decision making alternatives, vendor selection initiatives, asset management, and budget planning and tracking. </li><li>Maintains strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate and inspire change efforts for continuous improvement. </li><li>Develops and controls the O&M, Work Order and Capital Project budgets. </li><li>Facilitates open communication among work groups within SHEC and throughout the SECI organization. </li><li>Develops annual, five year and twenty-year Capital Project plans. </li><li>Ensures overall project management, prioritization, implementation, schedule compliance and budget control of Capital and Major Expense projects. </li><li>Leads and provides direction for the Predictive Maintenance teams in the performance optimization and maintenance optimization of equipment. </li><li>Directs staff in the development and implementation of various SHEC policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement. </li><li>Manages, coordinates and provides direction to Engineering and Contract Maintenance to effectively work with other departments as well as outside contractors for capital, expense and O&M funded projects. </li><li>Develops, establishes, reviews and monitors contracts, budgets, schedules and work plans to ensure proper cost controls to ensure compliance with budgets, schedules and contract terms. </li><li>Reviews and approves invoices from primary consultants and contractors supporting projects to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions. </li><li>Reviews and approves Support Services work orders, purchase orders and budgeted items to ensure compliance with budget, policies and procedures. </li><li>Plans, organizes, manages and directs the work of department personnel to maximize performance and individual development to achieve departmental and SECI goals. </li><li>Participates in the development of SECI and SHEC short and long-term goals and objectives. </li><li>Takes a proactive approach and leads by example regarding personal safety, safety of others and comply with all OSHA and SECI safety rules. Must complete all necessary online or classroom safety courses as directed. Must participate in safety briefings and meetings. </li><li>Takes a proactive approach and leads by example regarding environmental rules and regulations governing the operation of the facility. Must complete all necessary online or classroom environmental courses as directed. Required to immediately report any, and all, environmentally reportable incidents. </li><li>Manages the facility's NERC Compliance Program and performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in SECI's Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in "audit-ready" form as applicable and directed. You should also be familiar with SECI's Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of SECI's compliance program and the context of your duties and responsibilities attendant to your designation in the SOM. </li><li>Manages and oversees warehouse inventory management, conducts periodic cycle counts, and receives, stocks and issues inventory parts. </li><li>Performs asset management duties as assigned. </li><li>Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Must be able to work and access all locations of the facility and grounds. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds. Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Normal office working conditions. Some travel and work outside of normal business hours.
