<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Administrative Assistant/Administrative Assistant Counseling</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/22/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>SALEM HIGH SCHOOL</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>until filled</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Plymouth-Canton Community Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>POSITION: Administrative Assistant - Counseling Department</p> <p>LOCATION: Salem High School</p> <p>HOURS: 8 hours per day</p> <p>40 hours per week</p> <p>227 days per year</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School graduate or equivalent. </li><li>Experienced in office procedures including copy machine, fax, etc. </li><li>Demonstrated computer experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook. </li><li>Interpersonal and judgment skills necessary to work effectively with students, staff, and the public. </li><li>Good organizational, problem solving, and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidential information. </li><li>Excellent attendance record required. </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provides secretarial assistance to five counselors including scheduling appointments, preparing/processing correspondence, filing, and ordering supplies and testing materials. </li><li>Maintains official academic records and other confidential information. </li><li>Acts as contact person between students, parents, military and college representatives, and law enforcement agencies. </li><li>Obtains, gathers, and organizes data for honors convocation including preparation of certificates. </li><li>Processes all college and scholarship applications including mailing transcripts to colleges. </li><li>Organizes registration materials as needed. </li><li>Organizes and displays scholarship information as needed. </li><li>Processes and mails diplomas to graduating seniors. </li><li>Collects money for testing sign-up and academic letters. Distributes academic letters. </li><li>Participates in the process for college testing: registers students, collects fees, posts scores and maintains counselors' testing account. </li><li>Oversees the preparation of student passes for all student appointments. </li><li>Collects homework assignments for extended student illness. </li><li>Bending, lifting, and overhead work required. </li><li>Performs other duties as directed by the Supervisor. </li></ul> <p>This description is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other</p> <p>people.
