<p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position is expected to perform all activities required within the Welding department to produce components for customer orders. These tasks include, but are not limited to, TIG welding of sheet metal, aluminum, and stainless steel, as well as cutting, punching, and rolling of extruded aluminum bar. Welders are also responsible for all touch-up paint work. This position can expect to be reassigned to other departments frequently as business needs dictate.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>TIG weld formed aluminum and stainless-steel sheet metal components to production specification and quality requirements. </li><li>Prep, prime, and paint welded parts. </li><li>Operate semi-automated extrusion saw. </li><li>Punching extruded bar. </li><li>Slitting and rolling radius extruded bar. </li><li>Material handling to include forklift movement and unloading truck. </li><li>Accurately manage productivity through our production control system (ERP) as orders are completed. </li><li>Observe plant safety requirements and advise management on safety concerns through near miss and incident reporting. </li><li>Maintain work area to established 6S standard. </li><li>Serve as a helper or machine operator on shears, presses, packaging/shipping or any other additional duties, as required by management. </li><li>Attend and participate in department and shift meetings including trainings for safety and other workplace training. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 18 years of age or older. </li><li>Read and understand production orders and blueprint drawings. </li><li>Welding experience and certification preferred but not required. </li><li>Strong mathematical and measurement skills, especially ruler (to 1/64") and protractor. </li><li>Flexible team player with a solid work ethic and reliability. </li><li>Well-developed interpersonal skills to allow effective communication with other team members and leadership. </li><li>Strong attention to detail. </li><li>Resourceful problem-solver who works well independently. </li><li>Forklift experience preferred but not required. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Welding Certification Preferred </li><li>1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a welding work-cell. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outdoor temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts & pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels. </li><li>Hours Worked: Sun-Thurs: 10PM - 6AM </li><li>Flexible to the possibility of Overtime when required. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>OCCASIONALLY</p> <p>FREQUENTLY</p> <p>CONTINUOUSLY</p> <p>(0-30%)</p> <p>(31-60%)</p> <p>(61-100%)</p> <p>LIFTING OR CARRYING</p> <ul> <li>1-10 LBS </li></ul> <p>X</p> <ul> <li>11-20 LBS </li></ul> <p>X</p> <ul> <li>21-40 LBS </li></ul> <p>X</p> <ul> <li>41-50 LBS </li></ul> <p>X</p> <ul> <li>51 OR MORE LBS </li></ul> <p>PUSHING OR PULLING:</p> <ul> <li>1-40 LBS </li></ul> <p>X</p> <ul> <li>41-50 LBS </li></ul> <p>X</p> <ul> <li>51 OR MORE LBS </li></ul> <p>BENDING OR STOOPING</p> <p>X</p> <p>REACHING ABOVE SHOULDER LEVEL</p> <p>X</p> <p>DRIVING AUTOMATIC EQUIP.
