The goal of the program is to develop proficiency in all Distribution Dispatcher functions through the use of various training methods including the classroom, on-the-job training, and field experience.</p> <p>The Distribution Dispatcher functions include operating the electrical distribution system in a safe and reliable manner; monitoring multiple computer applications for system alarms and outages; coordinating and directing switching activities for normal maintenance and power restoration; forming contingency plans to mitigate consequences and implementing contingency plans should an event occur; and dispatching service level work orders to field resources.</p> <p>The position requires a two part pre-employment testing:</p> <ul> <li>System Operator Power Dispatch test (SO/PD) </li></ul> <p>Progression through the hiring process will be contingent upon the SOPD test recommendation, and a formal interview.</p> <p>Basic/Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent and must meet one of the following criteria:</p> </li><li> <p>Journeyman lineman</p> </li><li> <p>Journeyman electrician-substation</p> </li><li> <p>System Protection & Control Technician (Relay Tech)</p> </li><li> <p>5 years of distribution related experience</p> </li><li> <p>3 years distribution related experience and Associate's Degree in related field</p> </li><li> <p>1 years distribution related experience and Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering</p> </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to comprehend one- line and three-line diagrams</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with SCADA and OMS applications</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to work in a high paced, rapidly changing environment</p> </li></ul> <p>Specific Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays; rotating shifts </li></ul> <p>Travel Requirements</p> <p>5-15%</p> <p>Relocation Assistance Provided (as applicable)</p> <p>No</p> <p>Represented/Union Position</p> <p>Main IBEW Florida Union</p> <p>Visa Sponsored Position</p> <p>No</p> <p>Posting Expiration Date</p> <p>Friday, May 30, 2025</p> <p>All job postings expire at 12:01 AM on the posting expiration date.</p> <p>Please note that in order to be considered for this position, you must possess all of the basic/required qualifications.</p> <p>Privacy</p> <p>Do Not Sell My Personal Information (CA)</p> <p>Terms of Use</p> <p>Accessibility</p>
