<p>Ayden-Grifton High School</p> <p>Job Posting: Theatre and Film Production Teacher</p> <p>Location: Ayden, North Carolina</p> <p>Position Type: Full-Time, 10-month</p> <p>Start Date: August 15, 2025</p> <p>School Year: 2025-2026</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Ayden-Grifton High School, home of the Chargers, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Theatre and Film Production Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This teacher will lead and expand our growing performing arts and media programs, engaging students in creative expression, digital production, and technical theatre. The role includes teaching multiple theatre courses and guiding a student-led film production team that produces media content highlighting school events for viewing once per week.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach the following courses:</p> </li><li> <p>Theatre Foundations</p> </li><li> <p>Theatre Intermediate/Proficient/Advanced</p> </li><li> <p>Technical Theatre</p> </li><li> <p>Film Production (student-led production of key school events such as athletics, extracurricular activities, and student life, shared during 1st period)</p> </li><li> <p>Design and implement engaging, standards-based instruction that fosters creativity, collaboration, and communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate school-wide media projects including promotional videos, event recaps, and live recordings.</p> </li><li> <p>Direct and produce school theatre performances throughout the year.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor students in acting, directing, stagecraft, and media production techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with school leadership, coaches, club advisors, and AVID/WICOR teams to spotlight student achievements and school culture.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage and maintain theatre spaces, technical equipment, props, and costumes.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide opportunities for students to participate in competitions, festivals, and community performances.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records, provide timely feedback, and communicate regularly with students and families.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Valid North Carolina teaching license in Theatre Arts (or eligibility to obtain licensure).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience and/or coursework in theatre instruction, technical theatre, and digital media production.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated knowledge of video editing, audio/visual equipment, and production software.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong classroom management and student leadership development skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to supporting a diverse student body and creating inclusive learning environments.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prior experience directing school or community theatre productions.</p> </li><li> <p>Background in broadcast journalism or multimedia production.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to foster student voice and leadership through media and performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience integrating AVID WICOR strategies into classroom instruction.</p> </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <p>Interested candidates should apply online through the Pitt County Schools Frontline application system.
