<p>Job Summary The Office Coordinator acts as a receptionist for the entire Pre-Surgical Testing Department and is responsible for the clerical and primary communications functions. These functions include helping with scheduling the Pre-Surgical Testing appointments. Responsibilities Receptionist Functions</p> <ul> <li>Greets all patients arriving in the Pre-Surgical Testing Department. Goes beyond the role of receptionist by troubleshooting for the patients who arrive at the desk in need of directions or information. </li><li>Reviews all demographics information with the patient to ensure all information is correct and updates information in Cerner. Communicates corrections with Patient Registration as needed. </li><li>Calls multiple physician offices to obtain lab work and EKG on patients that were done prior to PST visit. </li><li>Notifies the Pre Surgical Testing Nurses, (NP, PA) of the patient's arrival. </li><li>Answers all telephone lines in PST and Bariatrics promptly, within 2 to 3 rings demonstrating appropriate telephone etiquette. </li><li>Triages messages in an accurate, courteous and timely manner. </li><li>Writes messages clearly and completely. </li><li>Creates PST chart from Form Fast. Prints forms for surgical visit charts. </li><li>Maintains a positive, pleasant attitude when interacting with patients and families, physicians and their office staff. </li><li>Receives mail for the department sorts and distributes to recipients. </li></ul> <p>Clerical / Computer Functions</p> <ul> <li>Appropriately communicates with Pre-Surgical nurses regarding concerns/issues. </li><li>Insures confidentiality and safety of computer files per Hospital policy. </li></ul> <p>Quality Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Assists in data collection as needed. </li><li>Calls doctors' offices to obtain clearances and test results. </li><li>Performs other duties as directed. </li><li>Serves as brand ambassador by upholding the WMCHealth Mission, Vision, and CARE values and promoting excellence in the patient experience, during every encounter. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications/Requirements EXPERIENCE Two years minimum secretarial, clerical office experience with computer skills. EDUCATION High School Education.</p>
