<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The CREC Academy of International Studies Elementary School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and certified Long-Term Substitute World Language Teacher to join our team for the Spring 2026 semester.</p> <p>In this role, you will support students in developing foundational language skills while fostering curiosity about cultures around the world. As an International Studies school, we value educators who promote global awareness, cultural understanding, and communication through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Plan and deliver engaging World Language lessons for students in grades PK-5. </li><li>Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that supports language acquisition and cultural exploration. </li><li>Maintain a safe learning environment and manage classroom behavior effectively. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners. </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support the school's mission and student success. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Certification: Applicants must hold or be eligible to apply for a Connecticut State Certification endorsed for World Language (appropriate PK-12 #101 preferred). </li><li>Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred. </li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <ul> <li>Step 1 BA: $37.75 per hour </li></ul> <p>Application Requirements</p> <p>To be considered for this position, please apply online.
