<p>Company Description</p> <p>Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The Performance Foodservice team delivers delicious food, but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 4:00am - 1:00pm.</p> <p>The Yard Driver position will perform the following duties:</p> <ul> <li>Locates and moves full and empty trailers to and from various loading dock doors. </li><li>Couples and uncouples "yard Tractor" to and from trailers and secures trailers in the yard. </li><li>Checks with supervisor promptly at the start of the shift for days assigned schedule. </li><li>Move "Yard Tractor" to the loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer. </li><li>Transports loaded trailer with "Yard Tractor" or regular tractor to the proper storage location in the yard. </li><li>Performs "safety check" inspection of the trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. </li><li>Secures the trailer landing gear and uncouple the trailer with the 5th wheel pin. </li><li>Connects and disconnects brake lines as needed. </li><li>Attaches empty trailers to "Yard Tractor" and transport to the appropriate loading dock door. </li><li>Performs general housekeeping duties in work area as needed. </li><li>Secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>High School Diploma or Equivalent</p> <p>Previous Yard Jockey Experience</p> <p>6-12 months of tractor trailer experience</p> <p>Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months experience with good performance record and in accordance with driver training program requirements where applicable</p> <p>Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.</p> <p>Valid CDL A</p> <p>Must be 21 years of age</p> <p>Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)</p> <p>Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years</p> <p>Pass pre-employment drug test</p> <p>Pass road test</p> <p>Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>1+ years commercial yard driving experience</p> <p>Foodservice distribution industry experience</p> <p>Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e. PeopleNet)</p> <p>EEO Statement</p> <p>Performance Food Group and/or its subsidiaries (individually or collectively, the "Company") provides equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all applicants and employees, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
