<p>Who We Are Salem Academy Charter School (SACS) is a nationally ranked urban charter school north of Boston, MA offering a rigorous college preparatory program to nearly 500 students in grades 6-12. The culture is based on mutual respect, integrity, professionalism, a commitment to excellence, a collaborative spirit, and a sense of human kindness particularly as it relates to age-appropriate adolescent development.</p> <p>What You'll Do Salem Academy seeks a skilled and dedicated 6th-12th Grade Math Interventionist (teacher) who is committed to raising student achievement through targeted, data-driven instruction. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving outcomes for all students, particularly those who need additional support to meet grade-level standards in mathematics. The Math Interventionist works directly with students in small groups, collaborates with teachers and families to support instructional strategies, and serves as a key member of the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team to lead math intervention efforts.</p> <p>Working with and for Students Provide math services aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), MTSS tiers, and other intervention frameworks Design and implement data-driven, research-based math interventions and targeted instructional plans Administer and analyze diagnostic assessments to determine specific skill gaps and learning needs Collaborate with Special Education and general education teachers to support students with diverse learning needs Monitor and document progress toward IEP and MTSS goals through regular formative and summative assessments Implement consistent academic and behavioral procedures to ensure a respectful, structured, and achievement-oriented learning environment Input and analyze student academic and behavioral data using the school's data management system Co-lead or support Service-Learning projects</p> <p>Working with and for Families Communicate regularly with families about student progress, goals, and strategies for success Participate in Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences three times per year Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and student support planning sessions</p> <p>Working with and for Colleagues Collaborate with general education, Special Education, and ELD teachers to support all learners Consult with and coach general education teachers on effective interventions and accommodations Attend weekly grade-level team meetings and professional development sessions Participate in curriculum development and instructional planning Maintain a strong, school-wide culture focused on equity and high expectations Provide timely updates and feedback on student performance to all stakeholders MTSS Leadership and Collaboration Serve as the math content lead for the school's MTSS team, ensuring a systematic approach to math intervention across all tiers. Participate in MTSS data meetings to review student progress, recommend instructional adjustments, and document interventions. Support classroom teachers by modeling strategies and providing resources to help struggling students within Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports. Contribute to a positive, data-driven culture of continuous improvement in mathematics achievement.</p> <p>Who You Are: You are a skilled and reflective math educator with a demonstrated ability to accelerate outcomes for students with diverse learning needs. You are deeply committed to inclusive, culturally responsive teaching. You are committed to standards-based teaching and learning. You have a deep understanding of mathematics standards, learning progressions, and effective instructional strategies. You use data to design, adjust, and monitor interventions. You work to build student-centered learning environments. You respond reactively and proactively to the academic and social-emotional needs of students in their classrooms. You are values-aligned. You build strong relationships and create a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.</p> <p>Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Demonstrated subject matter competence and a sound understanding of the Massachusetts Math Curriculum Framework Successful completion of relevant MTELs SEI endorsement Background clearance</p> <p>Preference will be given to candidates that meet all of the requirements above, and: Are multilingual including in Spanish and English Have designed and successfully implemented culturally responsive curriculum Have similar life experiences as our students Have a Massachusetts teacher license Have a Master's degree in Education, Mathematics Education or a related field Have National Board Certification</p> <p>Salem Academy Charter School values a school culture that celebrates learning, and we believe that the adult culture in the school is the foundation of the school's success.
