<p>The Close Relationships and Health Living Lab, under the direction of Dr. Brett Jakubiak, invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The recruited fellow will work on an NSF-funded project focused on identifying the unique consequences of physical affection in romantic relationships. The fellow will collaborate with Dr. Jakubiak on supervising a team of observational video coders, analyzing data, and disseminating findings by preparing manuscripts for publication and by presenting at conferences. The fellow will be a part of the Syracuse University community, a community that is welcoming and supportive of all of its members.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>PhD in Social Psychology, or a related discipline, by the start date. </li><li>Experience with dyadic data analysis using both multilevel modeling and structural equation modeling approaches and should be comfortable analyzing data in R and Mplus. </li><li>Should have expertise related to close relationships and be prepared to apply relationship-focused theories (e.g., attachment theory, affection exchange theory) to interpret findings. </li><li>Should have experience with observational video coding, including supervising coding teams and developing their own coding manuals. </li><li>In addition, it would be desirable if the applicant had experience with implicit measures and/or longitudinal dyadic data analysis (ecological momentary assessments). </li></ul> <p>Job Specific Qualifications</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Data analysis </li><li>Dissemination of research (scholarly publications, conference presentations) </li><li>Observational coding (leading team of video coders) </li><li>Mentor graduate and undergraduate students </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>Applicants must complete a brief online application at https://www.sujobopps.com/postings/112159 and attach 3 documents as described below.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Cover letter (1 page), including the names and contact information for 3 references</p> </li><li> <p>Curriculum vitae</p> </li><li> <p>Research statement (2-3 pages)</p> </li></ol> <p>Note: References will be contacted for top candidates only.
