<p>Kforce's global supplier of wafer fabrication equipment and services used to manufacture semiconductors is looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join their Fremont, CA location. This role is a 2 year Contract to start offering weekly Pay, Medical, Dental and 401k.</p> <p>The Impact You Will Make: Join our team as a mechatronics engineer to develop robotic path planning and computer vision algorithms, as well as lead in system integration and testing (both HW and SW). You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to design, test, and troubleshoot special application end effectors on a 6-axis robot. The ideal candidate is organized, thorough, and thrives in a dynamic, start-up-like environment. Hands-on development and prototyping are essential for success.</p> <p>What You Will Do:</p> <ul> <li>Program robotic paths/behaviors for 6-axis arms </li><li>Integrate with ROS/ROS2 </li><li>Design a learning pipeline for computer vision algorithms </li><li>Design, build, test, and troubleshoot robotic systems </li><li>Integrate sensors and actuators into robotic systems and analyze and optimize robotic system performance and accuracy </li><li>Create user interfaces for robotic systems </li><li>Own tasks and projects, ensuring proper release and hand-off </li><li>Apply engineering theories and methods to solve technical problems </li><li>Conduct pilot studies and formal experiments (using Design of Experiment principles) to benchmark performance against state-of-the-art approaches using well-reasoned metrics </li><li>Generate reports to support technical recommendations </li><li>Work within cross-functional team and assist in the design, analysis and performance evaluation from concept to completion </li><li>Implement process control techniques like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing </li><li>Work onsite in the lab 5 days/week </li><li>Travel occasionally </li><li>Train other engineers* Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field </li><li>3-10 years of experience in robotics (manipulation) and computer vision </li><li>Excellent intuition with system hardware and physics </li><li>Background in robotics/machine (deep) learning/reinforcement learning </li><li>Experience with C++ and Python in Linux environments </li><li>Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills </li><li>Understanding of Design of Experiment (DOE) principles </li><li>Experience with version control (preferably Git) </li><li>Understanding of statistical process control and analysis </li><li>Experience in project management </li><li>Ability to work independently </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Behavior Tree/MoveIt </li><li>Experience with robotic hardware design and end effector application development </li><li>Proficient in MCAD model creation (Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks) </li><li>Knowledge of C++, Python, OpenCV, TensorFlow or PyTorch, JS + React, ROS, ROS2 </li><li>Experience with web APIs or SDKs </li><li>Embedded Linux experience working with Kernels </li><li>Project management experience </li></ul>
