This position also works closely with special education administrators.</p> <p>Essential Skills, Knowledge Performance Abilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Exhibits strong administrative skills, including proficiency in word processing, bookkeeping, and filing. Capable of utilizing modern technology for tasks such as data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Is proficient in the use of Google/Microsoft Office/Excel/PowerSchool or an equivalent platform.</p> </li><li> <p>Is a highly organized, team player.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.</p> </li><li> <p>Distributes letters and correspondence.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates telephone etiquette, with respect and professionalism when talking on the phone at all times.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides information and assistance by telephone, email and in person.</p> </li><li> <p>Has integrity and demonstrates good moral character and initiative.</p> </li><li> <p>Has strong interpersonal skills and relates well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community, including difficult and emotional situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Has the ability to follow written and oral instructions using a thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations of the school and school system and the frequent exercise of independent judgment within the scope of the authority as granted by building administration.</p> </li></ul> <p>Specific Assignments</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manages all aspects of student attendance, including daily attendance entry, monitoring absences, tardies, and early dismissals, and generating attendance reports as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates promptly and professionally with families regarding student attendance, including verifying absences and following up on attendance-related concerns.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with administration and office staff to identify and support students with attendance issues and contributes to attendance intervention efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accurate and confidential attendance records and ensures compliance with district and state attendance policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides high-quality and timely customer service to students, staff, families, and external stakeholders in a courteous and supportive manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports the daily operations of the Main Office and performs clerical tasks related to attendance and other school functions as assigned by building administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with creating and distributing attendance letters, truancy notifications, and other related communications in a professional and timely manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail in all attendance-related data entry and reporting tasks.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties</p> <p>Perform all other duties that may be assigned by building administration</p> <p>Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li> <p>Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.</p> </li><li> <p>Rate of compensation based on working agreement between the Local #1303-139 of Council #4 and the Watertown Board of Education</p> </li><li> <p>11 month employee</p> </li></ul> <p>All application materials must be submitted online, through Applitrack; should you have any difficulty in submitting your online application please contact (860)945-4813.</p> <ul> <li>The district reserves the right to close the posting if a suitable candidate is found prior to the external closing date. </li></ul> <p>Attachment(s):</p> <ul> <li>#2352 0.5 FTE School Secretary - WHS .pdf </li></ul>
