This position will work on-campus on an hourly basis. The Coach will help develop and support the Club Ice Hockey program and work with students of different levels of expertise.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Teach, coach, train and motivate student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized team Practice sessions. </li><li>Prepare and organize practice plans to enhance team performance for games. </li><li>Foster an environment within the Ice Hockey program that supports the department mission of personal growth and integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship, and a commitment to athletic and academic excellence. </li><li>Travel with the team to all athletic competitions. </li><li>Prepare all student-athletes with a game-plan designed to facilitate their growth as an athlete and provide the team with the best ability to win. </li><li>Assist in creating an inclusive environment where all athletes feel welcomed regardless of background or skill level. </li><li>Create a manage a program that retains, educates, and graduates its student-athletes. This encompasses the off-ice portions of player growth, specifically professionally and philanthropically. </li><li>Evaluate incoming talent and prospective student-athletes to the Drexel Ice Hockey Program. Further facilitate the programs growth as it pursues the goal of becoming an NCAA team. </li><li>Stay up to date with modern NHL and NCAA strategy to give Drexel the best chance of remaining competitive. </li><li>Communicate with all constituents of the program including staff, faculty, and students. </li><li>Help current student leaders establish a strong foundation of alumni support. </li><li>Ensure that the program complies with all University, Club Sport, Governing Body and Recreational Athletics rules and regulations. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Typically standing, walking </li><li>Typically bending, crouching, stooping </li><li>Typically running, climbing </li><li>Lifting demands > 50lbs </li></ul> <p>Location</p> <ul> <li>University City - Philadelphia, PA </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt.
