Class size is limited to a maximum of 30 students. More than 1,000 students major in School of Business programs.</p> <p>Essential Duties</p> <ul> <li>Teach courses in Accounting. </li><li>Advise undergraduate and/or graduate students. </li><li>Serve on College Committees </li><li>Engage in required academic activities of scholarship. </li><li>Participate in College and Departmental activities and committees. </li></ul> <p>Occasional Duties</p> <p>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of the Accounting Department.</p> <p>Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to teach required courses in the Accounting Program; demonstrated record of teaching experience required. </li><li>Ability to engage in scholarly and professional activities. </li><li>Ability to contribute to the curricular, assessment, and advising work of the Department and its programs. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>MBA or Master's Degree in Accounting or Taxation as well as CPA (valid license) at time of application minimum qualification; PhD/DBA in Accounting with CPA or JD with CPA preferred. </li><li>Relevant professional experience in Accounting necessary, management or controller-ship level preferred. </li><li>Ability to teach core courses in accounting, as well as higher level accounting courses; variety of courses across the current accounting curricula which complement current faculty expertise. Will include financial accounting and management accounting, and encompass but not be limited to intermediate, tax and audit. </li></ul> <p>Candidates who have an earned master's degree or equivalent and are pursuing a terminal degree but who have not yet completed their terminal degree by the date of appointment may be considered for appointment at the rank of instructor</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with and mentoring a diverse student population. </li><li>Willingness to adopt a leadership role. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <p>Teaching/instruction is performed in a traditional classroom setting or online.</p>
