<p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Director of Transportation</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT STATUS:</p> <p>Regular, full-time (260 days)</p> <p>FLSA STATUS:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Provide clerical and office management support to transportation department.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage driver routes including changes, updates and creation of routes. Includes inputting the information into the Routing system, as well as, communicating changes in routes to the drivers.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the scheduling, coordination and planning of annual in-service for employees in department.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow procedures for employee and student accident reporting including notification to proper authorities and administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Pull and review bus videos as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Create spreadsheets for department use, generate purchase orders, and other clerical duties such as filing, creating new hire files, maintaining certifications, updating records and etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Answer calls and inquiries from the buildings, parents, community members concerning transportation issues. Assist drivers with questions and support as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with building personnel and other schools as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the preparation of reports or information needed for compliance purposes or operation of Transportation.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist On Board Instructor (OBI) with, completion of paperwork, scheduling classes and entering information into the ODE system.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate transportation and garage programs and systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain.</p> </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.</p> </li><li> <p>Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a neat, attractive office environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Practice ethical and responsible behavior.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in professional development activities as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or Director of Operations.</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma.</p> </li><li> <p>Post High School education, preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with transportation routing software a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent computer skills including MS Office Suite experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Alternative to the above qualification as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.</p> </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Competence with the computers and software used by the school district, and willingness to continuously upgrade those skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Well developed oral communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to organize, prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members, and to interact with staff, students and the public in a positive manner.</p> </li></ul> <p>EQUIPMENT OPERATED:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Computer/printer</p> </li><li> <p>Various office machines, such as copiers, fax machine, etc.</p> </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Potential exposure to blood or other bodily fluids and tissue.</p> </li><li> <p>Potential contact with distraught or angry people.</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather.</p> </li><li> <p>Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, and read.</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional requirement to lift, carry, push, pull supplies or equipment, up to 25 lbs.</p> </li></ul> <p>NOTE: The above lists may not be ranked in order of importance.</p> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Length of Employment: One Year Limited Contract</p> </li><li> <p>Salary: Based on current classified salary schedule with appropriate experience and training</p> </li><li> <p>Fringe Benefits: Based on current classified handbook</p> </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Please submit a letter of interest and resume to the online application.
