<p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Community College of Aurora (CCA) is seeking a highly organized and collaborative individual to serve as the Director of Academic Support and Project Manager. This key leadership position will report to the Special Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Success and will provide supervision and operational guidance to the Academy Support Team. The Director will play a critical role in advancing the academic mission of the college by providing project management for initiatives in Academic Success, ensuring completion of projects in a timely manner, collaborating effectively with all parties, and communicating effectively within and across divisions.</p> <p>This position reports to the Special Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Success.</p> <p>Supervises: Academy Support Team</p> <p>OVERVIEW OF CCA</p> <p>The Community College of Aurora serves our diverse community by providing high-quality instruction and support services to prepare students for transfer and employment. CCA enrolls 11,000 students annually, over 62% of whom are students of color, including nearly 32% Hispanic students, 65% of CCA students receive some type of financial aid, including 52% of whom receive Pell grants, and nearly two-thirds are first-generation college students.</p> <p>More than 20 different languages and 60 countries are represented at CCA. In addition to traditional degree and certificate programs, CCA offers non-credit professional development courses, customized training, and economic and workforce development resources to employer partners and individual professionals seeking to enhance the capacity and productivity of their workforce or individual knowledge and skills. The college centers diversity, equity, and inclusion and we actively seek to employee partners who want to join us in working to reducing outcome gaps among our diverse student population.</p> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Team Leadership & Supervision</p> <ul> <li>Recruit, hire, facilitate onboarding for, and supervise Academy Support Team members. </li><li>Ensure support staffing needs of the division are met regardless of campus and organize staff to enhance efficiency, cultivate team culture, and promote continued professional growth. </li><li>Hold regular meetings with the Academy Support Team to set priorities and structure workflow. </li><li>Assist in developing and managing operational budgets for the Academy Support Team. </li></ul> <p>Project Management</p> <ul> <li>Assist the Special Assistant to the VPAS in implementing division wide initiatives/priorities, special projects, and academic program supports to enhance student success and institutional effectiveness. </li><li>Provide project management for initiatives in Academic Success as assigned. </li><li>Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and resource allocations. </li><li>Ensure projects remain within scope, budget, and timeline. </li><li>Provide reports and updates on key project areas and personnel assigned for leadership. </li></ul> <p>Process Improvement & Operational Excellence</p> <ul> <li>Be knowledgeable of all procedures, policies/guidelines, and systems within and impacting the Academy Support Team. </li><li>Perform regular review of and updates to Academic Success support-related processes and guidelines in coordination with Academic Success leadership, focusing on improving efficiencies, effectiveness, and accountability. </li><li>Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and coordination among academic departments, administrative units, and external partners. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, substitutable with years of experience on a year-by-year basis </li><li>Experience in academic support or administration, executive support, or project management within an educational setting. </li><li>Leadership experience such as supervising, coaching, or mentoring staff and/or students. </li><li>Demonstrable organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a customer service-oriented approach to engaging with internal and external stakeholders. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. </li></ul> <p>PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree from an accredited institution. </li><li>Demonstrated experience and understanding of academic operations. </li><li>Community College experience (either as a student or an employee). </li><li>Familiarity with project management software. </li></ul> <p>SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION</p> <p>Salary Range:Anticipated starting salary range is $72,000.00 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan, including generous leave, holiday, and education benefits.
