<p>Job Description:</p> <p>At Excelsior School of Philadelphia, staff are expected to perform all duties required to deliver high quality educational experience to children across various age groups. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment which meets the developmental needs of individual students, as well as, the group by working collaboratively with teachers, families, center staff and administration.</p> <p>Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for all children, including those with special needs </li><li>Maintaining positive communications and daily interaction with parents and meeting for parent teacher conferences. </li><li>Assessing the children using Teaching Strategies Gold </li><li>Maintaining record and reports of children ( daily attendanve,assessments,and anecdotal records) </li><li>Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, and children's art work </li><li>Facilitates a safe and healthy environment by following infectious disease principles such as handwashing, sanitzation and cleaning </li><li>Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that supports student learning and development </li><li>Help keep classroom, storage rooms and bathrooms clean and orderly </li><li>Lead by example: encouraging success through modeling and coaching </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience</p> <p>Bachelor's degree (B.A/B.S) Early Childhood education or Early Childhood Development</p> <p>Level 1 Certfication ( must complete Level 2 in three years of employment)</p> <p>1 year emergency certfication may be obtained as indicated</p> <p>2-4 years expeience preferred</p> <p>Specialized Training/Clearances</p> <p>Mandatory Reporting</p> <p>Common Core requirements/ 24 hours training annually required by program or state guidelines</p> <p>CPR/First Aid</p> <p>Clearances; Child abuse, NSOR, State and FBI</p>
