Preferred applicants should have experience as a supervisor and must have the ability to work with constituents, lobbyists, and divisional leadership to assist in all legislative processes. Preferred applicants should have excellent legal research and writing skills. Some in state and out of state travel may be required to attend hearings and conferences. Candidate must posses a valid drivers license.</p> <p>The mission of the Department of Finance and Administration is to provide Arkansas citizens convenient, effective, and courteous service which will encourage voluntary compliance with tax, license, and child support laws.</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Job Series: Revenue Programs</p> <p>Classification: DFA Assistant Division Administrator - Competitive</p> <p>Class Code: PRP03C</p> <p>Pay Grade: SPC08</p> <p>Salary Range: $114,390 - $169,298</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The DFA Assistant Division Administrator serves as a senior-level manager and advisor, supporting the Division Administrator in the day-to-day and strategic operations of a division within the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. This classification is responsible for helping lead organizational planning, program execution, personnel oversight, budgetary coordination, and policy implementation aligned with the mission of DFA and state law.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities</p> <p>Assist the Division Administrator in leading division-wide operations and managing daily administrative and programmatic activities. Supervise section chiefs, unit managers, or program leads to ensure performance goals, timelines, and legal standards are met. Coordinate the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and strategic plans that align with DFA goals and state law. Oversee or support budget planning, fund management, procurement processes, or personnel actions for the division. Provide technical guidance and decision-making authority on matters related to revenue collection, program performance, budgeting, procurement, or accounting, depending on division scope. Represent the division at high-level meetings, legislative briefings, interagency workgroups, and public events as needed. Monitor program outcomes, financial trends, audit findings, and performance data to support effective management and transparency. Act on behalf of the Division Administrator when delegated, ensuring continuity of leadership and service delivery.</p> <p>Knowledge and Skills</p> <p>Ability to develop and implement short- and long-term goals that align with division and agency objectives. Clear, concise communicator with strong writing and presentation skills. Proven ability to evaluate complex issues and make timely, data-informed decisions.
