<p>CITY OF MARTINSBURG</p> <p>FULL-TIME PLANNING DEPARTMENT HOUSING INSPECTOR</p> <p>The City of Martinsburg Planning Department is accepting applications for a full-time Housing Inspector. Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and three (3) years of experience in general construction, building inspection and related fields or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate successful training and passage of the Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector certification by the International Code Council; 64 Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector (as outlined in Legislative Rule, Title 87, Series 7, providing standards for certification and continuing education of public sector building code officials, inspectors and plans examiners.) within 2 years of hire.</p> <p>Applicant must possess working knowledge of applicable laws, standards and regulations relating to building and construction codes, a thorough knowledge of carpentry, masonry and cement work standards and a working knowledge of inspection techniques related to construction.</p> <p>Successful candidate will have the ability to prepare, organize and maintain inspection file data, reports and systems; ability to analyze problems and data and use sound judgment in decision making, the ability to produce or obtain reports, graphs, charts, photographs, evidence or exhibits as required. Applicant must be detail oriented and able to communicate clearly, concisely and legibly and to testify in court in an objective, concise and professional manner.</p> <p>A valid driver's license is also required for the position and must be maintained during employment. Applicant must be able to meet all physical requirements of position, including the ability to work outdoors, stand and walk on a regular basis, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.</p> <p>Starting salary $45,390 annually with an excellent benefit package.
