<p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>City of Detroit unlimited refrigeration journeyman's license or equivalent journeyman's card through Union Local 636, and proof of six years of continuing job related experience dealing specifically with large heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems. </li><li>In the absence of above credentials, individual may possess a State of Michigan mechanical contractor's license. </li><li>Demonstrated working knowledge of cooling towers, pumps, chilled water coils, centrifugal chillers, absorption chillers, heating systems and their distributions. </li><li>Experience and working knowledge of DDC building controls. </li><li>Preferably experience with Honeywell and Automated Logic building control systems. </li><li>Certified in refrigerant recovery. </li><li>Candidate must also possess a working knowledge of other trades including electrical and plumbing installations and have ability to perform repairs on these systems. </li><li>Ability to interpret building schematics related to large building systems. </li><li>Ability to repair equipment in a professional manner. </li><li>Ability to work without supervision. </li><li>Valid vehicle operator's license and a driving record acceptable to the university. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications All Qualifications</p> <p>Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.</p> <p>Position Details Position Purpose</p> <p>The successful candidate will become part of a skilled trade's team responsible for University maintenance activities.
