The report contains information on security policies as well as crime and fire statistics for the University.</p> <p>The Assistant Director (AD) for Career Services and Employer Relations, NYC Campus, reports to the Director of Career Services and Employer Relations (NYC) and collaborates with Career Services team, faculty, and other Pace University staff as necessary on the development and implementation of an annual Accounting and Financial Services strategic plan inclusive of student engagement, internship placement, fulltime job placement, and employer development goals for undergraduate and graduate students and recent alumni within the respective cohorts represented. The AD will collect, interpret, and present data on student engagement and placements for reporting purposes.</p> <p>Position Duties</p> <ul> <li>Manage the portfolio of employers who hire our students for internships and jobs within the accounting and financial services industries. </li><li>Expand employer relationships within said industries, with emphasis on financial services, to include Fortune 500 companies and top-tier firms in job functions that our students desire to pursue, the goal to increase Bachelor and Master level internship and job placements for Accounting, Finance, Economics, and related majors, in quantity and quality. </li><li>Manage events such as Meet the Firms CPA Career Fair and UG Finance Recruiting Night as well as other onsite and offsite programming each semester to educate students and develop networking/recruiting opportunities. </li><li>In collaboration with The Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DEVAR), provide networking opportunities and source alumni employer sponsors for internships and early careers opportunities that are a pipeline to employment; coordinate events with DEVAR that will engage alumni who are in the market for interns and entry-level full-time hires. </li><li>Provide career advisement and preparation, and internship/fulltime job placement assistance to students who want to work within the CPA and financial services industries and recent alumni through counseling, workshops and programs. </li><li>Perform 1:1 career counseling and preparation including but not limited to resume and cover letter reviews and approvals, interview preparation, digital branding, job search strategies and career exploration. </li><li>Increase student engagement with Career Services of NYC bachelor level students during their first year of study to ensure preparedness to apply for internships by their sophomore year. </li><li>Host weekly Office Hours for students and recent alumni. </li><li>Assist with the development and implementation of ALL career services initiatives. </li><li>Conceptualize, plan, and implement special workshops, programs and events for students and recent alumni. </li><li>Collaborate closely with student organizations especially in the development of and marketing of business-focused programming and events. </li><li>Institute a Career Readiness Program for NYC Lubin master level students which will produce higher placement rates at 3 months after graduation, qualifying Pace to rank in external surveys. In conjunction with the Lubin School of Business and Graduate Admissions, manage and oversee program, which includes hosting domestic master's level candidates for workshops and other engagement activities and events; work collaboratively with Director of Analytics, Branding, & Content Development to collect accurate data for university and national reporting to US News and World Report and other sources. </li><li>Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI)/Relationship Manager (RM) for the designated cohorts, working closely with the Pleasantville Campus Career Services counterpart to collaborate with the deans, faculty and staff in the strategic development and implementation of an Accounting and Financial Services Strategic Plan, with goals focusing primarily on student engagement, programming, employer development, internship placement and full-time job placement. </li><li>Collaborate with Career Services staff on career programs, special projects and strategies to better obtain/collect and report internship and full-time job data and statistics. The AD is proactive and accountable for continuous follow-up and outreach efforts with both students and employers to develop and report internship and full-time job placements. </li><li>Participate in data collection campaigns and special projects as determined by Career Services management. </li><li>Assemble and present reports on metrics (including but not limited to placements in a way that contributes to making informed decisions), work with Director Analytics, Branding, & Content Development in gleaning and interpreting such data. </li><li>Market Career Services programs and services to students, recent alumni, faculty and staff through regular and varied outreach and communications. </li><li>Attend and contribute to team, department, and assigned committee meetings as scheduled. </li><li>Represent the department at both internal and external events such as admissions events, open houses, information sessions, new student orientations, career fairs and other special events. </li><li>In accordance with the Service Standards set forth as part of Pace University's service standard Initiative, "I MAKE IT HAPPEN," be accessible, respectful, professional, accountable, and proactive in all interactions with students as measured by existing department surveys. </li><li>Performs other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned as needed. </li></ul> <p>Supervision Exercised</p> <p>May directly supervise one or more staff members. Collaboration with faculty and academic advisement from designated school(s) and other departments including but not limited to Student Engagement, International Student Services (ISS), Admissions, and Residential Life.</p> <p>Position Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in human resources, higher education, counseling, or related discipline preferred. </li><li>At least five years experience working within business-related industry, higher education or recruiting. Prior experience with developing business plans, providing employment assistance or job development preferred. </li><li>Superior communication, presentation, writing, problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills. </li><li>Strong technical skills with knowledge of Windows based computer applications, internet resources, and web recruiting software. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body including non-traditional and international students, as well as with internal and external constituencies. </li><li>Commitment to working in a team-based collaborative environment. </li></ul> <p>Work Hours</p> <p>9:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m., also, nights and weekends as needed for high traffic periods, campus events, Career Services programs, Admissions events, data collection campaigns and special projects as determined by the Executive Director and/or Director. Must be reasonably available when working offsite. Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 remote, contingent upon internal business and departmental needs).</p>
