<p>Job Description - Corporate Staff Accountant</p> <p>Company:</p> <p>National Storage Affiliates is a self-administered, self-managed real estate investment trust, dedicated to the ownership, operation, and acquisition of self-storage facilities. Through third party acquisitions, contributions from its prior Participating Regional Operations ("PROS"), and joint venture partnerships, as of December 31, 2024, NSA has ownership in and operates 1,074 self-storage properties located in 42 states and Puerto Rico with approximately 70.2 million rentable square feet. NSA is one of the largest owners and operators of self-storage facilities among public and private companies in the U.S.</p> <p>Reports to: Senior Corporate Accountant</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Record and document routine monthly and quarterly journal entries timely and accurately, in accordance with GAAP and in a method consistent with company policies </li><li>Identify and record daily cash transactions </li><li>Record journal entries for monthly interest accruals, loan payment and draw activity, distributions, and bank fees </li><li>Assist with monthly reconciliation preparation under supervision by senior corporate accountant </li><li>Support quarterly review and annual review procedures performed by external financial statement and controls audits </li><li>Assist corporate accounting team in preparing recurring and ad hoc management reporting, research transactions and issues as requested </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required </li><li>1 - 3 years of accounting experience </li><li>Solid general-ledger accounting skills required </li><li>Experience with public company reporting and SOX compliance is a plus </li><li>Certified Public Accountant or eligibility is a plus </li></ul> <p>While not required, prior real estate industry experience or public accounting experience is beneficial.</p> <p>A successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and independently within the company and should be a:</p> <ul> <li>Self-motivated, team-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and a </li><li>Well-organized, analytical, professional with diligent attention to detail, and </li><li>An individual willing to embrace change in a growing business. </li></ul> <p>Strong systems skills using a variety of software systems including advanced Excel and Word. Experience using Sage 100 or similar mid-market ERP is helpful.</p> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>$60,000 - $76,000.
