The starting pay for this position is $20.21/hour. This is a contract covered, FLSA position.</p> <p>Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00A - 4:30P </p> <p>What's in it for YOU: </p> <ul> <li>Collaborative, positive work environment </li><li>Talented and passionate team members that will help you grow and learn </li><li>Opportunities to make a widespread difference in the lives of Iowa communities </li><li>Excellent benefits package </li><li>Paid Holidays/Vacation/ Sick Leave </li><li>Iowa Public Employees' retirement System (IPERS) Retirement plan </li><li>Employee discount program </li></ul> <p>Under the supervision of the Clerk of Court, major duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Provide customer service to the public and court employees </li><li>Record financial transactions and reconcile accounts </li><li>Perform disbursement transactions and record disbursement activities </li><li>Prepare regular, accurate financial records and reports </li><li>Review daily bank entries and general ledger activity </li><li>Ensure the integrity of accounting ledgers by practicing control procedures </li><li>Perform bookkeeping and accounting tasks, including cashier duties and processing </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>The following skills and experience will enable you to succeed in this role:</p> <ul> <li>Customer service experience </li><li>Excellent communication skills; verbal and written </li><li>Critical thinking skills </li><li>Ability to prioritize </li><li>Knowledge of accounting and finance principles </li><li>Strong computer knowledge </li><li>Ability to use a 10-key calculator </li><li>Dedicated to advancing shared goals through meaningful public service </li><li>Ability to secure confidential data and maintain confidentiality </li><li>Detail-oriented </li><li>Ability to process large amounts of cash and checks efficiently, counting back change, and working with financial reports. </li><li>Background in accounting or math is beneficial but not required </li></ul> <p>This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Judicial Branch. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. </p> <p> </p> <p>Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma (or high school equivalency diploma) </li><li>One (1) year of experience in customer service </li></ul> <p>Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience. </p>
