The clinical site is located at Dallas County Hospital 610</p> <p>10th Street, Perry, IA 50220</p> <p>.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The mission of the on ground, part-time adjunct Nursing Instructor, regardless of the curriculum,</p> <p>is to provide the student(s), our customer(s), with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain</p> <p>entry-level employment in the field of their chosen program of study. To accomplish this</p> <p>mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated and consistent</p> <p>team effort under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Education/ Dean/ Program</p> <p>Head, or his or her designee.</p> <p>The Adjunct Faculty position will provide support within the School of Nursing for Fundamentals</p> <p>Lab/Simulation and/or Clinical Operations.</p> <p>The Adjunct Faculty provides hands-on technical service and practical application guidance to</p> <p>students and other faculty. The Adjunct assists in the routine maintenance, calibration, and</p> <p>general operation of sophisticated high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment, task trainers,</p> <p>audio-visual equipment, and computers used in the training of healthcare professionals. This</p> <p>Adjunct should provide exceptional customer service, including the ability to express technical</p> <p>information effectively to non-technical persons. Ideally the successful incumbent has</p> <p>knowledge of and experience with clinical training equipment and simulation lab operations.</p> <p>What to expect in this role:</p> <p>? Provide an engaging learning environment by hands-on activities and with open and</p> <p>timely communication</p> <p>? Provide students with appropriate guidance regarding academic excellence</p> <p>? Partner with advisors and leadership on student concerns, resolution, retention, and outcomes.</p> <p>? Participate in assessment and curriculum review.</p> <p>? Remain current with trends, techniques, and technology.</p> <p>? Maintenance of a professional development plan.</p> <p>? Lab/Simulation and Clinical Support:</p> <p>? Set up and maintain the simulation lab and classroom, operating the simulation</p> <p>equipment and virtual reality procedural trainers</p> <p>? Ensure compliance with safety practices to minimize risk in the simulation environment</p> <p>? Collaborates with other clinical faculty during simulations with the ability to make</p> <p>appropriate adjustments based on needs of the particular scenario.</p> <p>? Provide appropriate guidance to students in the simulation setting related to</p> <p>professionalism, practice, and research.</p> <p>? Additional duties as may be assigned by the School.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>BSN, with 2 years work experience</p> <p>Two or more years of experience working with simulation in an educational institution or</p> <p>equivalent setting preferred.</p> <p>Interest in healthcare simulation, customer service experience</p> <p>An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered</p> <p>What we're looking for:</p> <p>? Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and</p> <p>Powerpoint, as well as Google applications such as Gmail, Chat and Meet.</p> <p>? Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.</p> <p>? Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balance competing demands for</p> <p>time, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.</p> <p>? Effective analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, resolve issues or make</p> <p>recommendations as appropriate.</p> <p>? Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication</p> <p>style and method to suit different audiences.</p> <p>? Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a professional</p> <p>demeanor with people at all levels within the organization and from diverse backgrounds.</p> <p>? Valid driver's license in the state of employment and surrounding states</p> <p>? Occasional travel to other Purdue Global simulation centers to assist with</p> <p>operational needs.</p> <p>?
