These educators create high achieving learning environments. They identify and systematically apply differentiated instruction and assessment that improves achievement for all learners from all racial groups.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Requires a valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate with at least one (1) special education endorsement. Applicants with the Learning Disabilities (SM) endorsement are preferred. </li><li>Resource Room teachers deliver explicit instruction in all required areas. They also provide inclusive coaching support in classrooms. Students are seen in both push in and pull out models. Resource Room teachers provide both academic and behavioral supports. </li></ul> <p>RELEVANT UNDERSTANDINGS AND COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Awareness of the physical, social, emotional and mental development of the learner. </li><li>Proficient and knowledgeable in the core subject areas. </li><li>Able to provide a flexible, stable and pleasant learning environment that is child-centered while maintaining appropriate classroom management. </li><li>Familiarity with culturally relevant pedagogy and be able to include this pedagogy in his/her teaching practices. </li><li>Understanding of pertinent learning intervention practices, such as Response to Intervention (RTI). </li><li>Works collaboratively with colleagues in professional learning communities. </li><li>Knowledge and practice with formative and summative assessments to evaluate and improve student achievement. </li><li>Background in behavior management and supports. </li><li>Background in social emotional learning supports. </li></ul> <p>EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in Accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Certificated Personnel.</p> <p>BEGINNING DATE: August 25, 2025</p> <p>New hires will be required to attend a three-day orientation</p> <p>August 19-21, 2025</p> <p>SALARY: PCEA Salary Schedule</p> <p>METHOD OF APPLICATION:</p> <p>INTERNAL APPLICANTS - Apply online using the Internal Applicants section. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
