<p>The Ideal Candidate</p> <p>This position manages the day-to-day coordination and communication of multiple new store construction, relocations, and expansions for the Journeys Group and Johnston & Murphy retail stores to insure timely completion and within budget.</p> <p>How You Will Make an Impact</p> <ul> <li>Assist legal team in lease issues as they pertain to construction. </li><li>Review landlord and city comments of architectural plans. </li><li>Assist the architect to work through landlord and city issues during plan approval. </li><li>Assist the sign company in working through landlord and city issues during plan approval. </li><li>Qualify GC bids and award each project to a general contractor. </li><li>Attend weekly meetings to apprise departments of project status. </li><li>During construction, assist the GC to work through landlord, design, code/inspector issues. </li><li>Communicate with the GC during construction to insure a timely completion. </li><li>Resolve issues openly and quickly. </li><li>Review and approve/disapprove change orders. </li><li>Visit project sites to insure work is being done according to company standards. </li><li>Insure that punch list items are resolved. </li><li>Resolve warranty issues on news stores after store opening. </li><li>Review invoices for accuracy before payment is made. </li><li>Focus on cost reductions and savings. </li><li>Maintain a positive and professional attitude with associates, vendors and landlords. </li></ul> <p>Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have</p> <ul> <li>3 - 5 years of relevant experience </li><li>Thorough knowledge and understanding of architectural and engineering plans </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously </li><li>Act as a link between operations, vendors, contractors and architects </li><li>Strong communication skills (verbal and written) </li><li>Ability to resolve conflicting situations </li><li>Effective problem solving skills </li><li>Willingness to travel overnight as required </li></ul> <p>#hybrid</p> <p>#LI-LC1</p>
