<p>Description</p> <p>This position works in the Design and Construction Division within the Department of Parks and Recreation and is responsible for mapping, coordinating construction permit projects, planning, designing, and constructing improvement projects at St. Louis County Park and Recreation facilities.</p> <p>The typical starting salary range for this position is between $55,536.00- $58,302.40 annually depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience as well as budgetary considerations. To learn more about these and other County benefits, please visithttps://stlouiscountymo.gov/st-louis-county-departments/administration/personnel/benefits.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Develops and maintains maps and inventories of park facilities and assets using ArcGIS. </li><li>Maintains and operates the Parks and Recreation Department's drone. </li><li>Coordinates and monitors construction project administration by inspecting work product and checks for compliance with design plans, standards, codes, and regulations. Prepares related documentation and monitors fund disbursement. </li><li>Develops or oversees the plans for new facilities and improvements to existing facilities with St. Louis County Parks. </li><li>Conducts the planning and design phases of facility construction by preparing preliminary drawings, completing plans, estimating costs, securing permits, and preparing and reviewing bid documents. Oversees professional services contracts for advanced designs. </li><li>Provides professional support for funding applications, maintenance projects, and large Department events. Coordinates with utilities and partner agencies for their uses of parkland. Oversees their designs and construction to ensure Department interests are upheld. </li><li>Performs related work as required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering,Computer Science or a related field and three years related construction management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>Must have or be able to obtain Remote Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.</p> <p>The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.</p> <p>All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory.
