<p>Job Summary</p> <p>A Geotechnical Driller Assistant supports the lead driller in subsurface drilling operations using various geotechnical drilling equipment. This entry-level position involves training in equipment maintenance, operation, and understanding the geotechnical exploration process</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in Drilling Operations: Perform subsurface drilling using techniques such as auger drilling, mud rotary drilling, air rotary, and diamond rock bit coring </li><li>Sample Collection: Collect soil and rock samples using various samplers and prepare boring logs </li><li>Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on drilling equipment, including diesel engines and hydraulic components </li><li>Safety Compliance: Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects </li><li>Support Tasks: Help with positioning and aligning the rig, driving medium-duty drilling trucks, and operating other equipment like forklifts and skid steer. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Soil sampling </li><li>Environmental science </li><li>Environmental engineering </li><li>Geology </li><li>Geotechnical </li><li>Fieldwork </li><li>Data collection </li><li>Groundwater analysis </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>AAS or BS degree in Geology or Environmental Science </li></ul> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job</p> <p>classification and length of employment.
