<p>Department</p> <p>BSD PED - Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation</p> <p>About the Department</p> <p>The Section of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology provides care for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients with cancer and other hematologic diseases, requiring the specialty knowledge and skills of Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation. In addition to patient care, clinical and translational research, including laboratory-based wet lab and dry lab studies, are conducted by faculty members in the section.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation in the Biological Sciences Division seeks a full-time Research Manager to support and advance an interdisciplinary research program focused on life-course epidemiology, environmental and structural determinants of health, cancer and reproductive outcomes.</p> <p>The incumbent's primary activity will be academic research conducted in close collaboration with the Murphy Lab.</p> <p>The Research Manager will play a central role in analytic leadership, project coordination, and scientific development across multiple funded studies, including NIH-funded studies involving complex epidemiologic, clinical, and registry-linked data.</p> <p>The job leads and provides expertise to the development of programs for scientific research facilities. Uses considerable on-the-job experience to ensure compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies. Works independently to write articles, reports and manuscripts, and presents research findings at meetings and/or conferences.</p> <p>This at-will position is wholly funded by extramural funds (e.g., grant, gift, endowment) which are renewed under provisions set by the grantor of the funds. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these funds and satisfactory job performance.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support integration of data across sources, e.g., registries, biospecimens, and administrative data.</p> </li><li> <p>Support interpretation and visualization of results for manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate program-level operations across multiple research projects and grants.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and troubleshoot analytic or operational challenges as they arise.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and oversee data governance activities, including preparation and management of Data Use Agreements (DUAs), Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and data sharing agreements.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with institutional offices, collaborators, and legal/compliance teams to ensure appropriate data access and use.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute substantively to grant applications, including methods, analytic plans, and preliminary data.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with preparation of progress reports (e.g., RPPRs) and other sponsor-required documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate manuscript development across project teams, including drafting support, co-author coordination, and management of revisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Support long-term planning for growth of the research program, including new data resources, collaborations, and funding opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop systems and workflows that support efficient coordination across projects within the research portfolio.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides expertise to researchers on compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides expertise to researchers and research support staff.
