The DISCOVER Center delivers system-wide, comprehensive, end-to-end support for investigator-initiated research, guiding projects from initial concept and protocol development through study execution, analysis, dissemination, and publication.</p> <p>Oversees a team of clinical research scientists and statisticians and is responsible for ensuring high-quality, efficient, and scientifically rigorous support services for employees, investigators, residents, and fellows. Promotes the DISCOVER Center's mission of advancing well-designed, reproducible, ethically sound research that advances the system's Health Assurance strategy and improving clinical care outcomes across the continuum of care.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li>Formal Education Required: </li></ol> <p>a. PhD or MD/DO required</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Experience and Training Required: </li></ol> <p>a. Five (5) years of progressive experience in clinical research, translational research, health services research, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a closely related field</p> <p>b. Two (2) years of experience leading, mentoring, or supervising research professionals, scientists, analysts, or statisticians</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: </li></ol> <p>a. Demonstrated experience in study design, protocol development, scientific methods, and interpretation of research data</p> <p>b. Experience supporting investigator-initiated research from concept development through publication</p> <p>c. Knowledge of IRB processes, human subjects protections, research ethics, and applicable regulatory requirements</p> <p>d. Experience collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, allied health professionals, residents, fellows, student interns, and administrative leaders</p> <p>e. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including scientific editing, presentation development, and consultation with investigators</p> <p>f. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and lead work in a service-oriented research support environment</p> <p>g. Strong project management skills and demonstrated competencies in leadership, management, operations, and communication.</p> <p>h. Must have a working knowledge of FDA, GCP, HIPAA, and institutional policies, regulations, and requirements.</p> <p>i. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and to prioritize workloads to meet competing deadlines required.</p> <p>j. Must be proficient with Microsoft 365 applications and products (e.g., Teams, OneDrive, Planner)</p> <p>k. Must be proficient and knowledgeable of statistical and data analysis and management applications (e.g., REDCap, SAS, R)</p> <p>l. Must have a working knowledge and understanding of artificial intelligence applications and ethical use (e.g., generative AIs, large language models, etc.)</p> <p>m. Experience with Epic electronic health records functionality (e.g., SlicerDicer, Cosmos)</p> <p>n. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Level of Physical Demands: </li></ol> <p>a. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
