The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring Zero Zone meets the needs of its customers by:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Qualification, monitoring and control of external suppliers</p> </li><li> <p>Driving a quality assurance mindset through quality at the source methodology</p> </li><li> <p>Supporting process focused quality</p> </li><li> <p>Developing, monitoring, and improving quality metrics for all internal and external suppliers and processes</p> </li></ul> <p>Participates in and/or leads Corrective Action Preventative Actions (CAPA's) utilizing scientific thinking to implement counter measures to drive quality improvements</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Organize, analyze, and present quality data leading to understanding of quality failures and opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the internal CAPA process including Root Cause Analysis for internal and external quality failures</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the SCAR process for supplier quality failures</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and complete quality improvement projects leading to measurable results</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize data-oriented methods to analyze supplier quality issues and drive improvements</p> </li><li> <p>Develop good working relationships with suppliers</p> </li><li> <p>Perform supplier assessments</p> </li><li> <p>Perform field audits of cases and collects data on case performance and aesthetics</p> </li><li> <p>Documents field findings including measurements, observations, and field interviews to drive quality improvements</p> </li><li> <p>Act as a change agent for continually improved quality</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Production and Design Engineering to focus on critical issues related to (COQ) cost of quality</p> </li><li> <p>Understand and utilize the business ERP System (IFS)</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements for Effective Performance:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree with three or more years of direct quality related experience</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with LEAN and Six Sigma</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with SPC</p> </li><li> <p>Experience acting as the primary communicator with all levels of the organization respective to production and process controls; corrective and preventive action (CAPA), customer complaints, risk management and product quality improvement</p> </li><li> <p>ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Domestic travel up to 50%</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills/Abilities/Specifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Scientific Thinking</p> </li><li> <p>Risk-Based Thinking</p> </li></ul> <p>Behavioral & Environmental Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain a positive work attitude.
