<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor or designated CLS, is responsible for performing tests and examinations classified as waived and moderate complexity by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.</p> <p>Licensure and Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Current California MLT License (California Code or Regulations (CCR), Title 17, Section 1032.5) </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Successful completion of at least 60 semester (90 quarter) units from an accredited college or university. The coursework shall consist of at least 36 semester units of physical and biological sciences with an emphasis on applied clinical science. Coursework shall include 6 semester units of chemistry and 6 semester units of biology appropriate for transfer to a baccalaureate program in science, taken prior to, or concurrently with, training or experience </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>1-2 years previous experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>MLT Training with experience in a hospital based laboratory preferred. </li><li>Ability to work well within a team environment. </li><li>Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English as well as follow verbal instructions with minimal supervision </li><li>Ability to work flexible shifts </li><li>Strong organizational skills </li><li>Critical thinking skills </li><li>Problem solving skills </li><li>Basic computer skills </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands - Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change. </li><li>Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level. </li><li>Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level. </li><li>Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing. </li><li>Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. </li><li>Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties. </li></ul> <p>Key for Physical Demands</p> <p>Continuous</p> <p>66 to 100% of the time</p> <p>Frequent</p> <p>33 to 65% of the time</p> <p>Occasional</p> <p>0 to 32% of the time</p>
