<p>TO:All Teaching and Administrative Personnel Brockton Public Schools</p> <p>FROM:Dr. Kathleen F. Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources</p> <p>SUBJECT: Special Education Coordinator - Specialized Learning K-12 for SY 2025-2026</p> <p>It is requested that the following information be brought to the attention of all teaching and administrative personnel in the Brockton Public Schools.</p> <p>Qualifications: 1.At least five years of successful teaching and/or leadership experience in the administration of Special Education for students with specific learning disabilities, language-based learning disabilities, and/or emotional impairments. 2.Thorough working knowledge of disabilities including best practices in accommodations, modifications, adaptations, and specialized instruction. 3.Proficiency with MA Curriculum Frameworks and district curriculum programs. 4.Experience and knowledge of MCAS Portfolio Assessment. 5.Experience with creating and providing professional development. 6.Strong leadership skills in organization, developing goals, best instructional practices, communication, problem solving, and collaboration. 7.MA DESE Certification as an Administrator of Special Education required.</p> <p>Responsibilities: 1.Supervise special education staff assigned to specialized learning (emotional impairment and/or Social Emotional Learning) classrooms and programs within the district, including the public therapeutic day school and Stabilization Center. 2.Supervise and monitor the implementation of classroom instruction and student learning within the general education classrooms and programs for students with specialized learning needs. 3.Facilitate the inclusion of students with disabilities in general education classrooms and programs, as determined by the student's Special Education Team. 4.Participate in the recruitment and interview process for specialized learning teaching and support candidates. 5.Assist in the compilation of statistical data required by the DESE. 6.Conduct staff meetings with special education staff assigned to specialized learning (specific learning disabilities, language- based learning disabilities, and emotional impairment) classrooms and programs. 7.Develop and supervise a smooth transition for eligible students with specialized learning disabilities throughout the district. 8.Conduct and coordinate professional development for specialized learning programs. 9.Assist in the development of department and building based special education budgets. 10.Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Exceptional Learning.</p> <p>Compensation:1.25 ratio/10 months plus 2 weeks Workday: 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Reports to: Assistant Directors of Special Education</p>
