Together we create, innovate, and embark on this journey as a community of travelers, helping to make travel more seamless for everyone.</p> <p>Join The Crew</p> <p>We are hiring a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and takes Away further by helping perform monthly close tasks in a timely and accurate manner, allowing the company to deliver on an accelerated close timeline.</p> <p>What you'll do as the Senior Accountant</p> <ul> <li> <p>You'll support period-end closings by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of closing-related responsibilities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analyses</p> </li><li> <p>You'll assist and proactively propose improvements, developing and documenting accounting policies, procedures and internal controls</p> </li><li> <p>You'll support information flow between the accounting team, external auditors and other internal and external partners</p> </li><li> <p>You'll serve as as key point-of-contact for FP&A, Legal, AP, Payroll, Tax and various business owners on policies, processes, and help drive key initiatives and improvements</p> </li><li> <p>You'll help to manage audit requests, system enhancements, and ad-hoc reporting requests</p> </li><li> <p>You'll manage the timely preparation of bank reconciliations</p> </li><li> <p>You'll coordinate with the Payroll Department on weekly payroll file postings to general ledger as well as calculation of monthly payroll accruals</p> </li><li> <p>You'll manage the maintenance of the fixed asset subledger "acquisitions, disposal's, transfers, etc." execution of monthly depreciation process, depreciation entries, prepaid schedules, and calculation of monthly prepaid amortization entry</p> </li></ul> <p>Who you are</p> <ul> <li> <p>You have BS/BA in Accounting or related field, plus a minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience</p> </li><li> <p>You ideally have experience at a retail startup (strongly preferred, but not required)</p> </li><li> <p>You possess strong Excel skills, including the ability to perform functions like V-lookup and Pivot Tables</p> </li><li> <p>You have an understanding of US GAAP Accounting requirements, as well as internal controls processes</p> </li><li> <p>You have previous experience with ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred, but not required)</p> </li><li> <p>You are an excellent verbal and written communicator across different audiences, both internal and external (Slack experience preferred, but not required)</p> </li><li> <p>You are detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills</p> </li><li> <p>You're creative and innovative; you love to build great new things that are fresh and unique while staying on brand</p> </li><li> <p>You're agile, and motivated by a fast-paced and ever changing environment</p> </li><li> <p>You're passionate about transforming travel for all (but that's a given!)</p> </li></ul> <p>Excited to join the team, but not sure you meet all of the qualifications? What we offer within a salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. Our working hours are 9am-6pm et, but we embrace a common-sense approach to flexibility in the workplace.
