Mercyhealth employees have access to our internal and external employee assistance programs, employee-only discount packages, paid parental and caregiver leaves, on-demand pay, special payment programs for patient services, and financial education to help with retirement planning. </li></ul> <p>The Radiation Therapist provides professional duties involved with a variety of technical procedures prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist for the safe delivery of radiation therapy treatments and care to patients.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Possesses core knowledge of required Radiation Therapist functions, including scheduling, simulation, patient set-up, and treatment. </li><li>Demonstrates a functional knowledge of all major components of department equipment. </li><li>Delivers external beam treatments in an accurate and timely fashion with a high degree of accuracy. </li><li>Assesses and addresses patient's needs while under treatment. </li><li>Practices appropriate Radiation Safety procedures. </li><li>Accurate and timely completion of patient charts according to established standards and procedures. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of standard and advanced treatment calculations and treatment plans. </li><li>Designs and fabricates blocks accurately and efficiently. </li><li>Performs Simulation with a high degree of accuracy in a timely fashion with little or no supervision. </li><li>Utilizes appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers as required per position. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program</p> <p>Experience as a radiation therapist preferred</p> <p>ARRT registration in radiation therapy required (or eligible upon hire and attain within one year)</p> <p>Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days</p>
