<p>Job Purpose</p> <p>Accounting or Finance Student Interns should expect to learn multiple facets of accounting and finance related processes in a division of a large, public company. This can include but is not limited to property accounting, sales and use tax, financial reporting, accounts payables and receivables functions and/or financial planning and analysis. At Progress Rail, the team is not just building the future of rail-they are making history every day.</p> <p>Education / Training</p> <ul> <li>Business related major; </li><li>Accounting Principles Class I & II; preferred. </li></ul> <p>Key Job Elements</p> <ul> <li>Preparation and entry of a variety of journal entries (standard entries, accruals, etc.); </li><li>Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and supporting reports; </li><li>Perform balance sheet analysis, reconcile various general ledger accounts, and maintain supporting documentation for multiple legal entities; </li><li>Support software system for financial reporting; </li><li>Perform data entry of accounts payable invoices in an accurate and timely manner; </li><li>Communicate with internal and external customers on accounts payable inquiries; </li><li>Perform customer billing activities; </li><li>Complete a variety of financial budgeting and analysis activities; </li><li>Utilize data analytics tools; </li><li>Ensure compliance with department standards; </li><li>Follow established accounting principles and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); </li><li>Problem solving skills and analytical thinking; </li><li>Ability to work independently and contribute in a team environment; </li><li>Good Interpersonal and communication skills; </li><li>Strong ability to multi-task. </li></ul> <p>EEO</p> <p>Progress Rail is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
