We are an equal opportunity employer; no information obtained during the recruitment/selection process is intended for any discriminatory purposes.</p> <p>Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule</p> <p>Grade: 110</p> <p>Salary: $12.77 - $20.93 Hourly (Dependent on Qualifications)</p> <p>Department: Gas</p> <p>E-mail: MelissaM2@cctexas.com</p> <p>ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Utility Technicians are responsible for the construction, maintenance and operations of the City's gas distribution system.</p> <ul> <li>Keep crew truck clean and assist with inventory of parts and supplies to keep the truck stocked. </li><li>Clean parts and tools and perform daily maintenance and/or calibration of equipment. </li><li>Use small hand tools, tapping and stopple equipment. </li><li>Perform semi-skilled and common labor work such as paint and/or wrap pipe, cutting and threading pipe, pipe-fitting and assist in other pipeline maintenance as required. </li><li>Prepare tap cards and/or various inspection reports and documentation in accordance with Department procedures and/or regulatory requirements. </li><li>Maintains map books. </li><li>Assist in pressure tests, purging and putting in service new and existing gas mains in the city Gas distribution system. </li><li>Perform mowing, edging, trimming and cleanup of all Gas Department yard areas. </li><li>Assist with maintenance and operations of all principal gas valves in the City system. </li><li>Assist with the installation and maintenance of large volume gas meters. </li><li>Under moderate supervision, monitor and adjust district gas pressure staying within safe operating limits. </li><li>Respond to emergency leak calls and gas odor complaints. </li><li>Maintain and control odorizers at City Gate Stations making sure adequate odorization is kept throughout the system. </li><li>Overhauls, inspect and repair designated regulators and relief valves in accordance with the rules and regulations of the TRRC. </li><li>Perform maintenance on gas regulator stations including buildings and grounds. </li><li>With supervision, operate gas control valves to alter gas flow during emergencies and other gas related projects. </li><li>Maintain hand written and computer records of large volume gas meters. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires High School Diploma or GED </li><li>No experience required </li><li>A valid driver's license is required.
