<p>Summary:</p> <p>Under</p> <p>supervision and following established policies and procedures conducts clinical</p> <p>research involving human subjects. Collects data including EEG and MRI. With</p> <p>supervision analyzes data using statistical methodology. Reviews literature in the field for</p> <p>informational purposes or to gather data.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The</p> <p>focus of the lab is understanding risk for and resilience to cognitive decline</p> <p>in Alzheimer?s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. The Research</p> <p>Assistant will assist with multiple clinical research projects.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>10.0pt">Assists in recruitment of new study participants </li><li>10.0pt">Assists with acquisition and analysis of electroencephalography (EEG) </li></ul> <p>and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data</p> <ul> <li>10.0pt">Administers neuropsychological tests to study participants per study </li></ul> <p>protocol</p> <ul> <li>10.0pt">Establishes and maintains study records for participants </li><li>10.0pt">Reviews literature pertaining to research being conducted in the </li></ul> <p>scientific area of interest for information in order to better understand the</p> <p>research conducted and to gather data.</p> <ul> <li>10.0pt">Gathers tabulates graphs develops explanatory charts and analyzes </li></ul> <p>data using statistical methodology. May</p> <p>use computer programming to assist in data analysis.</p> <ul> <li>10.0pt">Performs administrative tasks including expense reimbursement and institutional </li></ul> <p>review board (IRB) management</p> <ul> <li>10.0pt">May review medical records to abstract information necessary to </li></ul> <p>complete study forms</p> <p>Other information:</p> <p>BASIC KNOWLEDGE:</p> <p>Completion of a bachelor?s degree in the scientific field off the research being conducted including psychology neuroscience or a related area</p> <p>Requires a working knowledge of statistics computer programming and research methodology.</p> <p>Requires a professional level of knowledge of the scientific field germane to the research being conducted.</p> <p>Requires strong interpersonal skills.</p> <p>Requires proficiency with Office 365. Proficiency with MATLAB R and/or SPSS preferred.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Three to six months related experience.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Works in a laboratory environment with possible exposure to human serum. Hazards are minimized with adherence to established safety protocols.</p> <p>INDEPENDENT ACTION:</p> <p>Performs independently with the department?s policies and practices.
