<p>Investigator - Cancer Epidemiology</p> <p>The Cancer Epidemiology Investigator will work with our team onsite at the Institute for Health Research in Aurora, Colorado. The IHR is seeking a scientist with demonstrated expertise and funding in Cancer Epidemiology, Screening and Prevention. This includes the genetics and genomics impacting cancer and the use of precision medicine. We are also interested in scientists with demonstrated interest in social determinants of health, disparities, or digital health as part of their research.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Serves as investigator or co-investigator on study projects for the Kaiser Permanente Colorado Institute for Health Research (IHR). Participates in and develops an ongoing program of research in area of expertise. Designs, develops, and obtains funding for well-defined research. Disseminates research results through presentations and publications in scientific and professional journals. Participates in the ongoing development and maintenance of the IHR by assisting in IHR policy, serves on relevant KP committees and provide technical consulting and professional service to KP. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities and applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards. Appropriately reports observed fraud or abuse.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Within the framework of the IHR goals and objectives, investigators pursue their professional work with some autonomy. Investigators professional role and autonomy are equivalent to the rank of assistant professors in a university setting. Most research activities entail substantial collegial interaction between and among other investigators and senior investigators. </li><li>Designs, develops, and obtains funding for research questions he or she has identified. </li><li>Individually and collaboratively prepares grant proposals, internal reports and publications; Leads interpretation and dissemination of research results. Serves on IHR committees </li><li>Mentors junior investigators, research project and technical staff. </li><li>Assumes selected administrative responsibilities. </li><li>Presents papers at national scientific meetings and/or reviews papers for national journals. </li><li>Collaborates with investigators outside of the IHR. </li><li>Is accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers. </li></ul>
