<p>Scholarship & Volunteer Coordinator (Part-Time)</p> <p>Department: Public Affairs</p> <p>Location: Wellesley Hills</p> <p>MassBay fosters educational excellence and academic success to prepare students for local and global citizenship, to promote their personal growth, to meet critical workforce demands of communities, and to contribute to the region's economic development.</p> <p>Massachusetts Bay Community College is served by a cadre of employees of varied backgrounds and experiences. We invite all individuals to consider joining our community.</p> <p>Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. This is a part-time position.</p> <p>Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, this part-time role manages two critical needs for the Office of Institutional Advancement: scholarship management and volunteer management. The position plays an essential role on a small team, supporting students, donors, volunteers, and corporate partners through accurate scholarship administration and meaningful volunteer engagement.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <p>Scholarship Management:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage the Foundation's scholarship program from application through award and reporting;</p> </li><li> <p>Run the scholarship process each semester (summer, fall and spring), including applications, reviews, selections, and notifications;</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure accurate record keeping and that the administration of scholarships follows donor requirements, college policies, and fiscal year budget constraints and timelines;</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the scholarship management system (AwardSpring), including setting up applications, award criteria, and reports;</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the MassBay Fiscal Office, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and department staff to award and reconcile scholarships;</p> </li><li> <p>Answer questions and provide guidance to students, faculty, staff, and the general public about our scholarship process;</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare scholarship reports and summaries for donors, Foundation Board members, College staff, and for promotional materials;</p> </li><li> <p>Identify opportunities to improve scholarship processes and stewardship, as appropriate.</p> </li></ul> <p>Volunteer Management:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Actively grow the volunteer pool through outreach to new and existing corporate and community partners that support employee volunteerism;</p> </li><li> <p>Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers through training, communication, and ongoing engagement;</p> </li><li> <p>Work with College staff, including Career Services, Deans, and faculty, to identify meaningful volunteer opportunities;</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a resource for faculty and staff seeking to engage volunteers;</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain volunteer policies, training, and best practices in alignment with the College's culture and guidelines;</p> </li><li> <p>Develop the volunteer portal (Bloomerang) and maintain accurate volunteer records;</p> </li><li> <p>Identify opportunities to improve volunteer program and stewardship, as appropriate.</p> </li></ul> <p>This list is not to be considered all-inclusive. A supervisor may assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College.</p> <p>All employees of MassBay are expected to work collegially and collaboratively within a community that values and celebrates the variety of student experience.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other field related to area of assignment; with three (3) years experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include college registration, academic advisement, career development, career experience, training, curriculum development, audio/visual or graphic production, grant administration, budget development, program/project management, event planning, administrative work in an academic environment, or personal computer operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</p> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to work on campus and to travel between campuses as needed; valid driver's license required;</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and assist with transporting materials for events.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Three years of related experience in advancement, development or alumni relations within higher education, or other mission-driven settings; </li><li>Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action; </li><li>Experience working in a community college or similar environment; </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need; </li><li>Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks accurately while meeting deadlines; </li><li>Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to work with data, records, and reports; </li><li>Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, volunteers, board members, and external partners; </li><li>Demonstrated ability to develop strategy and provide leadership, while also accepting guidance and working effectively within established priorities; </li><li>Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to listen, share ideas, and explain processes clearly; </li><li>Ability to understand and follow donor requirements, College policies, and guidelines; </li><li>Comfort using databases and technology tools, including CRM systems, online platforms, and Microsoft Office products; </li><li>Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgement, and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential matters; </li><li>Positive attitude, desire to make a difference, and willingness to accept other duties and assigned; </li><li>Experience with Bloomberg and Award Spring; </li><li>Experience using basic design or communication tools (e.g., Canva) to support outreach and engagement. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salary Range: $36.55 per hour</p> <p>Classification: MCCC Part-time</p> <p>Source of Funding: Local Trust</p> <p>To Apply: Please include a letter of interest and resume with your online application.</p> <p>Deadline: April 15th, 2026, or after that until filled.</p> <p>Final candidates are required to provide sealed transcripts and official certifications.</p> <p>Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI clearance.</p> <p>Massachusetts Bay Community College is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, age, veteran status, genetic information, gender identity or sexual orientation in its programs and activities as required by Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other applicable statutes and college policies.
