We are looking for a dedicated Pharmacy Technician PRN like you to be a part of our team.</p> <p>Job Summary and Qualifications</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists in performance of daily pharmacy tasks (procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of medications)</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in the formulary and inventory management process</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares intravenous admixtures</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitates customer service through communication with both internal and external customers</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible and understands the use of automated pharmacy equipment and software</p> </li><li> <p>Participates and assists with learning activities and other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Department Specific Criteria:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Refills, delivers, and returns medication to and from Pyxis machines according to established policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Refills, delivers, and restocks medications in various carts and kits (e.g. crash carts).</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing of medications and supplies in appropriate locations (rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date). Assists with physical inventories.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares nonsterile compounding according to policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs assigned department based monitoring duties in a timely manner (i.e. unit inspections, temperature logs, IV room logs).</p> </li><li> <p>Handles and delivers controlled substances in accordance with policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs unit dose packaging of medications and documents pre-packing information appropriately.</p> </li><li> <p>Charges medications to patient accounts in an accurate and timely manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with Pyxis machine functionality, optimization, and troubleshooting.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes and passes annual aseptic technique validation and associated competencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates proper aseptic technique and accurate preparation of sterile compounds (does not apply to Madison campus).</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the orientation of new employees(s) and/or orients current employee(s) to improve in a specific area.</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfills technician job responsibility list for assigned shift, documents status of completion of tasks, and ensures appropriate daily hand off prior to leaving at the end of shift.</p> </li><li> <p>Gives a thorough, concise report at change of shift, communicating incomplete assignments and potential patient concerns in order to provide continuity of care.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in departmental quality improvement processes by identifying problems and offering solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in department or hospital committees, task forces, and/or provide departmental education.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains security of the pharmacy.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends all staff meetings and/or huddles on scheduled work days.
