The HealthCare Connection has your next role!</p> <p>We are seeking a School-Based Medical Assistant to join our mission-driven team. In this role, you will support providers and nurses in delivering high-quality care to children and adolescents in a school-based health center. Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, administering vaccines, maintaining accurate medical records, and helping ensure smooth clinic operations.</p> <p>This position offers the unique opportunity to impact student health and well-being, while enjoying a consistent work schedule that allows for work-life balance. If you are compassionate, detail-oriented, and passionate about serving your community, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assisting providers with direct patient care including: interviewing the patient and documenting vitals and medical concerns and conditions </li><li>Conducting requested screening/tests </li><li>Drawing blood and administering shots to patients </li><li>Responding to telephone inquiries </li><li>Maintaining equipment and supplies in exam rooms and office </li><li>Completing encounter forms and code as necessary </li><li>Conducting referrals for patients </li><li>Performing other duties necessary to provide excellent patient care to the patients and to support our providers </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program </li><li>Active CPR certification </li><li>Prefer at least one year of experience in community health nursing setting or private physician practice. </li><li>Preferred experience working with electronic health records, or proven computer skills a must </li><li>Excellent communication and customer service </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and relate to persons from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds </li><li>Experience working with persons of diverse educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity/Drug-Free Workplace:</p> <p>The HealthCare Connection is focused on creating a community that promotes dignity and respect for employees, patients and other community members.
