<p>Position: Speech and Language Pathologist Position</p> <p>Position Type: Part-time, Hourly</p> <p>Department: Extended School Year - Summer 2025</p> <p>Location: Hosmer Elementary School/WHS at Moxley</p> <p>Reports to: ESY Coordinators</p> <p>Dates: July 7, 2025 - August 7, 2025</p> <p>Salary range: $42.00/hour</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>The Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders that impact their ability to access the curriculum. The SLP plays a critical role in fostering inclusive learning environments, promoting communication equity, and ensuring that students receive the necessary support to thrive academically and socially. In your letter of interest, please indicate which level/program you prefer. We have availability in the Connections, ISP, and Learning Support programs.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Consultation with staff regarding teaching students with communication disorders </li><li>Provide direct service and/or support to sub-separate program </li><li>Follow related IEP Goals and Accommodations </li><li>Teach age-related social pragmatic skills when appropriate </li><li>Teaching is focused on the prevention of skill regression </li><li>Progress monitoring and reporting </li></ul> <p>Qualifications Required:</p> <ul> <li>Current Massachusetts DESE licensure as a speech-language pathologist </li><li>Experience delivering services to preschool, elementary, and/or secondary preferred </li><li>Experience assessing all school-age children </li><li>Experience reading IEPs </li><li>Holds the belief that all children can learn </li><li>Classroom management </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>CPR/First Aid Certification </li><li>Flexibility with respect to caseloads, age groups, and scheduling </li><li>Experience as a speech-language pathologist in a public school setting </li></ul> <p>Please submit your resume and letter of interest by March 10, 2025 for priority consideration.</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Watertown Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
