<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Hourly/Community Education Swim</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/11/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>District Wide</p> <p>District:</p> <p>&nbsp Grosse Pointe Public Schools&nbsp&nbspAdditional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <ul> <li>Teach American Red Cross swim classes, from pre-school swim program through Level 6, as well as other instructional swim programs </li><li>Develop and implement lesson plans, test students, and complete student certificates as required by American Red Cross </li><li>If working alone, be prepared to fulfill duties of lifeguard. If working with staff, supervise lifeguards and swim assistants </li><li>Work with swimmers in water as needed </li><li>Operate handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment as needed </li><li>Respond to emergencies using appropriate first aid </li><li>Teach other non-ARC swim classes or supervise non-instructional swim programs as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Current American Red Cross certifications for lifeguarding, CPR, first aid, AED, and Water Safety Instructor </li><li>Ability to work effectively with swimmers of various ages and abilities </li><li>Ability to handle handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment </li><li>Experience as swim instructor preferred but not required </li></ul> <p>Working Condition: $18 - more dependent on experience. Hours vary</p> <p>Candidates hired for this position will be employed through www.EduStaff.org the educational staffing partner of the Grosse Pointe Public Schools, and will be required to complete a separate Edustaff application and orientation once an employment offer is received.</p> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Complete online application.
