If you do not mind hard work and want to make a difference in your community, then please consider joining the FMCC family.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>The Assistant Foreman under supervision from the Civil Foreman will assist in supervising crews in completing Heavy Highway Construction jobs.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist the supervisor with the day-to-day operations of Civil crews, including scheduling and assigning duties, </li><li>Assist in maintaining safety procedures and report conditions, </li><li>Assist in monitoring the subcontractors and their projects, </li><li>Assist with making sure each job site work is completed to ensure we are in compliance with project specifications and standards, </li><li>Supervise the use of machinery and equipment, </li><li>Assist with managing each employee's attendance and work ethic, </li><li>Communicate with crew effectively and respectfully, </li><li>Acts on behalf of the Civil Foreman in their absence, </li><li>May be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends, </li><li>Additional duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Two years of construction management experience, </li><li>Valid driver's license, </li><li>Knowledge of construction and maintenance practices, </li><li>In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines, </li><li>Ability to plan, layout and supervise the work of others, </li><li>Exceptional customer service skills, including resolving complaints and/or concerns, </li><li>Must be able to complete OSHA 10 training. </li><li>Ability to read drawing, plans and blueprints, </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate, </li><li>Must be able to pass drug screen and background check. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday,</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday,</p> </li><li> <p>This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces,</p> </li><li> <p>This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and the constant use of hands and arms,</p> </li><li> <p>This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (e.g., glasses, contact lenses),</p> </li><li> <p>Performing strenuous work for extended periods in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, and other inclement weather conditions,</p> </li><li> <p>Work may be performed in environments with exposure to extremely hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and moving equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Note: This position is considered Safety-Sensitive, and therefore subject to various schedule and unscheduled screenings for controlled substances.</p> </li></ul> <p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and fully subscribe to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity.
