We strongly encourage members of underrepresented communities to apply to join our community.</p> <p>Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time, non-unit position with no benefits. The assistant coach works in conjunction with the head coach to supervise and develop an intercollegiate varsity team, including in-season and off-season programming, in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulations of the athletic governing bodies.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist head coach in establishing team goals for season and ensure that they are in line with those of the entire MassBay Athletic program;</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for recruiting and training eligible players, organizing, implementing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the team sport and for attending practices and games;</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for knowledge of and adhering to league rules and best practices pertaining to sport techniques, rules and regulations;</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate daily with Assistant Director of Athletics regarding season progression including details regarding practices, game results, and player eligibility;</p> </li><li> <p>Distribute and collect all team equipment to players throughout the season;</p> </li><li> <p>Represents the university and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college sanctioned programs such as open houses);</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with game day set-up and breakdown.</p> </li></ul> <p>Commitment to Equity:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support MassBay's commitment to the Equity Agenda; collaborating with faculty, staff, and students on the College's strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to student outcomes;</p> </li><li> <p>Support MassBay's commitment to being anti-racist; embracing a community free of bias and inequality;</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to discussion and review of applicable College policies with a critical lens toward diversity, equity, and inclusion.</p> </li></ul> <p>This list is not to be considered all-inclusive.
