The Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute cares for patients with a variety of heart, vascular and thoracic diseases and provides the highest level of patient care, innovative treatments and a welcoming environment to all.</p> <p>The EKG Technician will regularly interact with nursing staff, members of the Adult Medical Emergency Team (AMET), physicians, and other EKG technicians to coordinate and perform cardiac testing, ensure timely communication of results, and support patient care across various clinical settings.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works nights, from 2:30pm-11:00pm.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform diagnostic electrocardiograms.</p> </li><li> <p>Position and connect leads from electrocardiograph machines to electrodes on specified body areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Review patients' records and instruct patients prior to the procedure.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormal findings.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and correct wandering, interference and artifacts.</p> </li><li> <p>Edit and forward results to the attending physician for analysis and interpretation.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain EKG equipment and supplies.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Six months of experience related to direct patient care or customer service in a hospital setting</p> </li><li> <p>OR completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology, paramedic or medical assisting program</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology, paramedic or medical assisting program </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
